Biography
An internationally acclaimed investigative journalist, Sonia Shah is also the author of Fever: How Malaria Has Ruled Humankind for 500,000 Years (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2010), Between Fear and Hope: A Decade of Peace Activism (Fortkamp Pub), The Body Hunters: Testing New Drugs on the World’s Poorest Patients (New Press), and Crude: The Story of Oil (Seven Stories Press). A former editor at South End Press and Nuclear Times Magazine, Shah has explored issues of inequality and access to medical science in The Washington Post, The Nation, The Boston Globe, Orion, Playboy, and a variety of other newspapers and magazines, in addition to being featured on the BBC, Australia’s Radio National, and US current affairs shows.
