Desk/Exam Copy Requests
South End Press provides free desk copies to professors using the book in a course. Only shipping charges apply: $4.50 for the first book and $.50 for each additional title. We will also provide desk copies for teaching assistants, assuming a reasonable enrollment. Our exam copy policy is to send titles under consideration for course adoption. You are free to keep the book if you adopt it for a course. However, as we are a small non-profit publisher and cannot afford to send out many copies of our books, we request that you return any titles that you do not adopt within 90 days to:

Otherwise, we ask that you send payment for the book at full price, plus $4.50 shipping and handling for the first book and $.50 for each additional book, to the same address.
Please use our online form to submit your request. You can also mail, fax, or email (deskexam[at]southendpress.org) your request with the following information:
- Title of book requested
- State whether it is a desk or exam copy request
- Number of desk copies needed
- Instructor's full name
- Course name
- Expected enrollment
- Semester/Quarter offered
- Department
- Department mailing address
- Phone
- Fax
Please send as much information as possible or we may not be able to process your request.
Orders take 4–6 weeks to process once received. You must fill out all the fields for us to process your request.
